Precision agriculture is a growing industry that can save both time and money for the agricultural community. UAS operations offer the potential of higher crop yields, more precise application of treatments, early detection of crop health issues, and increased revenues. This course reviews the current state and future potential of UAS in precision agriculture.
Goals and Objectives
- At the end of this course you will be able to
–Describe the importance and current state of precision agriculture
–Identify how UAS technologies (platforms, sensors, etc.) can be applied to precision agriculture tasks
–Determine the commercial viability of UAS applications in precision agriculture
–Identify any impediments to the use of UAS for precision agriculture, including Federal Aviation Administration regulation
