The purpose of this course is to build on the knowledge you have gained and provide you the basic skills you need to successfully design and print a 3D object in the Sinclair lab. As you progress through the course modules, lessons and activities you will review information about the different printers that are available to you in the Lab to print the 3D object you are to create prior to your scheduled lab time. You may use SolidWorks 3D CAD design software (available at Sinclair) or similar 3D design software of your choice. Prior to creating your object, you should obtain Instructor approval to ensure that it’s suitable for use with the printers at Sinclair.

- Review information for the type of printer you plan to use in the lab
- Use 3D CAD design software to create your 3D object
- Develop an understanding of slicer programs and how they are used
- Develop a 3D model for use in this course
- Print a 3D object in the Sinclair lab
- Cost: $2,000 for Metal Lab
- Cost: $1,000 for FDM orSLA Lab
- Cost: $3,500 for combined Metal, FDM, and SLA Lab
Note 1: This course will be held in a hybrid online and in-person lab format with rolling enrollment.
Note 2: This course will run three weeks from the start date as scheduled with Sinclair once enrollment is complete. This is inclusive of the online and in-person lab times. It is expected that any single printer type track will include an 8 hour in-person session in addition to online activities. Those choosing to complete all three printer type labs should plan for two 8 hour in-person sessions in addition to online activities.
